Zubair Alexander (MCSE, MCT, MCP+I, CNA, A+, CTT, CIW) works as a trainer and consultant in Seattle, Washington. He has over ten years of experience as a trainer, consultant, -network administrator, author, contributing editor, college instructor, and public speaker. He teaches Microsoft ISA Server 2000 and other Microsoft BackOffice products and has written extensively on Microsoft products for several years. When he is not busy training or writing, he finds time for consulting engagements. He excels in troubleshooting hardware and software problems and his real-world experience is one of his greatest strengths.


  Zubair is known worldwide for his articles on Windows NT/2000, written as a contributing editor and online columnist for Windows 2000 Magazine. He reviews technical books and -articles for various publishers and has co-authored a book on Windows 2000 networking services.


  As a Microsoft EST-endorsed trainer, he trains Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) and Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) engineers. In addition to writing Professor Windows columns for Microsoft TechNet, he has been involved in writing Windows 2000 exam questions for Microsoft. He has been recognized by Microsoft as a Charter Member 2000, honoring his early achievement as an MCSE for Windows 2000. Zubair was one of only 13 Microsoft Certified Trainers in United States that were endorsed by Microsoft to teach Train-the-Trainer courses for the Windows XP initiative.


  Zubair was awarded a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle. He also holds a B.S. in Mathematics. He taught at North Seattle Community College after he earned his Computer Information Systems (CIS) degree. Zubair specializes in design, implementation, and engineering of enterprise network services. He speaks publicly at technical seminars and conferences on a wide range of topics, from network security and DNS to Active Directory design and Terminal Services. Computers are not his only passion. Zubair considers himself to be one of the biggest sports fans in the world. He likes to participate in sports and watches just about every sport under the sun. Before he decided to jump into the technology field in the early 90s, Zubair won five trophies at the Northwest Roller-Skating championship, including the overall championship. He was also a winner of the Washington State Open Table Tennis championship. If you ask him for his favorite sport, he will name at least a dozen. His other interests include mind-challenging activities, IQ tests, puzzles, card games, chess, and performing magic tricks. What does Zubair think about his work in the high-tech industry? He likes to tell his friends he doesn't have a job; he gets paid for his hobbies.
