Description

This definitive reference provides students and educators with all the legally enforceable Australian Accounting Standards (aligned to IFRS), including the Conceptual Framework, Accounting Standards and Interpretations updated to 15 November 2008.
There have been substantial changes to the standards over the past twelve months which makes the 2009 Accounting Handbook a 'must-have' edition. Brand new standards issued since the 2008 Handbook include AASBs 1050, 1051, 1052; Interpretations 15, 16 and 1003; and Amending Standard AASB 2007-9.

Standards that have been significantly amended or revised include AASBs 3, 7, 124, 127, 1004, 1039; and Interpretation 1038.

Standards that have been deleted since last year include AASB 130; AASs 27, 27A, 29, 29A, 31 and 31A; Interpretations 1001, 1002, 1013 and all of the Policy Statements.

The preface and technical editor notes to the standards will greatly assist you and your students in understanding and applying the new standards.

The enhanced companion website for this title, www.pearsoned.com.au/handbooks, will be updated throughout 2009 with any changes to the accounting standards. It includes a new password protected instructor testbank of questions available to you to use in class or for assessment. Students can also log on to study and practice questions using the Student Self Test quiz.
